Obstacle Independence is one of the most valuable—and most challenging—skills to teach your agility dog. The earlier you start this training, the more clearly your dog will understand their job.

So, what is Obstacle Independence? It’s your dog’s ability to confidently and correctly perform agility equipment even when you’re not right beside them. This foundational skill starts with tunnels and jumps and builds up to more complex obstacles like contacts and weave poles.

In this 75-minute class, you’ll begin developing your dog’s obstacle independence with a focus on tunnels, jumps, and weave pole entrances. Using short, targeted drills and step-by-step guidance, you’ll teach your dog to:

  • Drive forward to a tunnel

  • Take a jump without hesitation

  • Enter the weave poles

– even when you’re moving away, changing direction, or peeling off to set up the next obstacle.

Gain the tools to build your dog’s confidence, precision, and independence on course!

This class will meet 1 time for 75 minutes. This class is held in the Barkeley University, Post Falls Location
