The goal of this seminar is to introduce distance handling skills to your handling toolbox, learn to apply those skills to real-life coursework, and have fun doing it! There are two proposed sessions, one for teams looking for foundation skills, and another for teams a bit further along in their training who wish to utilize more distance handling in their coursework strategies.

In this 3 hour seminar you will teach your dogs to find lines and to become more comfortable/confident working away from the handler (you). You will also begin introducing verbal commands for forward (“Go”), lateral (“Out”), and discriminatory (“In/Out”) distance

This class is ideal for agility trainers who want to refine their handling skills and elevate their performance.

Prerequisites:

  • Dogs can work off leash and stay with handler around other people and dogs

  • Teams can do a sequence of approximately 5 obstacles (jumps and tunnels)

  • Dogs must be familiar with an x-pen or crate
