Description
Toys are a great way to get your dog rewarded, focused, committed and/or excited about training. Knowing how to properly use a toy to motivate your dog is not only useful in daily life but crucial in training.
In this 4 week class we will investigate all the components of using toys as reinforcement. You will learn about variables that influence your dog’s ability to play with toys, and explore the best ways to work through those variables. You and your dog will learn ways to train ancillary behaviors required for toy reinforcement such as Impulse Control and Cooperation.
IMPORTANT: It is possible to add toy play to training at any point in your dogs’ sport career. It will not only make your training sessions easier but MUCH more FUN!
This class is appropriate for agility teams training at any level.
